MLK parade returns to Tampa after pause during pandemic

Brandon woman charged for letting friend drive drunk

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced the negligence charge against Michelle English, 45, on Thursday, Jan. 13. The department previously announced DUI manslaughter charges against Lucretia Bruno, 46.

Sheriff Judd said it’s the first time this type of charge has been brought in a situation like this in 70 years in Polk County.

TAMPA — Insurtech company TypTap Insurance Group Inc., a subsidiary of Tampa-based HCI Group, has delayed its initial public offering.

TypTap had filed a Form S-1 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission but says in a press release that the registration of securities has not become effective, meaning shares cannot be traded.
